What decisions should be made before a bathroom remodel starts?
Lock the layout and rough-in scope first
Moving a drain, shower valve, toilet, light, or outlet changes the trade sequence and may change permit requirements. Those decisions should precede tile selection.
- Shower or tub layout
- Waterproofing system
- Ventilation and electrical needs
- Vanity size and storage
- Tile dimensions and transitions
- Fixture lead times
Confirm materials before demolition
Missing valves, tile, glass measurements, or vanity hardware can leave a functional room open longer than necessary.
