Keep sound boxes and a useful layout
Cabinet painting makes sense when boxes are square, dry, and secure and the layout works for the household. Worn color alone is not a reason to replace everything.
Replace when the problem is structural or functional
- Water-swollen or failing cabinet boxes
- A layout that blocks movement or appliance use
- Insufficient storage that cannot be solved with inserts
- Damaged doors or frames throughout the run
An in-person assessment should separate finish problems from box and layout problems before a recommendation is made.
